BORROWING RULES
Anyone who is a member of University of City Island can borrow resources within the principles specified in the University of City Island Lending Policy, provided that they are a member of the library.
The forms required to apply for membership are obtained from the Library Information Desk.
Applications must be made in person. The member registration form must be filled in by the person himself/herself in handwriting, signed and submitted to the Information Desk.
Everyone who is a Member may complete and sign the Member Registration form; undertakes to read the library rules and comply with these rules.
Ada Kent University students can borrow 3 books and/or 3 audiovisual materials for a period of 15 days.
Ada Kent University academic and administrative staff can borrow 7 books and/or 7 audiovisual materials for a period of 30 days.
Only library members have the right to borrow.
The member should take the book or material he wants to borrow from the shelf and apply to the Information Desk.
Borrowed books or other materials must be returned to the library on or before that date. The member can only borrow the borrowed book again by extending it 1 time.
Books or other materials that are not renewed (the borrowing period has not been extended) cannot be taken out of the library.
Reference Books (encyclopedias, dictionaries, annuals, frequently used textbooks) cannot be borrowed.
Library lending service is implemented during working hours. Please note that the lending service is available from 10:00 to 17:00 (closed from 12:00 to 13:00). Please note that the lending service is not available on weekends and public holidays.
BORROWER’S RESPONSIBILITIES
Until it is returned to the library, the responsibility of each borrowed book and material belongs to the borrowing member.
It is the borrower’s responsibility to return the borrowed material to the library on time.
The borrower should check with the librarian whether any book or material to be purchased is damaged before borrowing. When the borrowed book is returned and is damaged, the responsibility belongs to the member.
In the event that any borrowed book or material is returned late, lost or damaged, the member’s rights within the university are temporarily blocked if the cost is not covered by the member. If the problem is resolved, the member shall regain his right within the university.
In order for students in the graduation status to receive a diploma, the student must not have any unreturned books, materials or unclosed debts belonging to the library.
REFUND DELAY AND PENALTIES
A daily delay penalty is applied for any book or other material that is not returned on the day. The delay penalty is determined by the University Administrative Board for that academic year at the beginning of each academic year (the delay penalty for the 2022-2023 academic year is 10 TL per day).
